Passing the Series 79 exam allows you to act as an investment banking representative. As a registered agent Series 79 licensed individuals may engage in the following activities. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). Private and Public offerings of debt and equity securities. Financial Restructuring and reorganization. Spin offs, split offs, asset sales and tender offers.

No. The Series 79 is not graded on a curve. Test scores are rounded to the nearest percentage. Students must answer 55 of the 75 exam questions correctly.
The time limit for the Series 79 exam is 150 minutes / 2 ½ hours .
The testing fee for the series 79 exam is $300.
The Series 79 exam is administered by FINRA and may be taken at any Prometric testing center. Prometric has test centers throughout the world. The Series 79 exam may be taken any day the center is open.

You must be able to work through the calculations effectively. Some questions need a deep understanding of the rules and regulations. The series 63 allows bankers to transact business with individuals.
